January 27 – This Jesus!

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love. If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. (John 15:9-11)

A picture was making the rounds among American Christians a few years ago of a “Laughing Jesus,” of the Lord with His faced turned to heaven “laughing out loud,” as we now “LOL” in our electronic correspondence!

It is a wonderment to have TOLD by our Lord Himself how to spark joy in His heart . . . we must keep His commands, and they, as He told us, are “not burdensome.”

We are commanded to love. Imagine! We serve our glorious God and King, Who has the privilege as King and Creator to demand any measure of obedience, and what does He ask of us? That we love one another!

Keep tabs on love today! Tie a knot . . . transfer a penny . . . make a check mark on a slip of paper . . . see how many things you may do today for the love of those around you. And in the electronic correspondence which we share, let others know if it makes a difference to you to be aware of the privilege and dedicated to its fulfillment!

Today, let us in Cor Unum rejoice the heart of our Lord, our Savior, our Friend, our God, on purpose, for His Name's sake, and for the fulness and completion of joy in our own hearts, just as He wants us to do. Amen.

  1. Cute photo! Now I've finally met someone else who uses genertic coffee. *lol* I use the cheap blue can from Walmart and it taste just fine to me, but according to Deuce if it isn't from Starbuck's it isn't good.

  2. How funny!

And would you believe, people always brag on my coffee??? I think it's because I make it a LITTLE BIT stronger than most . . . so perhaps it's not the brand at all!
