September 22 - Last Hundred Days!

Dear Sisters,

What a wonderful, glorious, God-centered time we have had together. Lots of theorizing, speculating, examining, investigating . . . and we could continue in that vein for the last hundred days of the year.

However, in the event that some of you may wish to make our Cor Unum adventure really monastic, here is your opportunity.

When you wake up in the morning, when the clapper sounds up and down the dormitory hall in the Abbey . . . or just when your alarm clock goes off . . . try this:

Say with your first breath, even under your breath . . . “Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty; the earth is filled with the glory of the Lord.”

Say it again, and again. Say it until you pick up your Bible to study or until you go to prayer or worship . . . or until you sit down for coffee with your spouse or your cat.

Say it or another phrase of your own choosing that proclaims God’s glory and majesty, and mean it, and plan to say it again the next morning. By the time the New Year rolls around . . . we will, by tiny increments, be the nuns of Cor Unum Abbey!
